I have tried to glue the sides back together.

Yes it can recover. I've cracked the skeletons of a few frags and have just glued them back together. None have died.

At this point I would just probably leave it alone just be on the lookout for an infection.

Colour is coming back and it looks to be extending.
I only bought it yesterday. Very annoyed with my self.

Try an iodide dip to help prevent infection.

Hard to say... But if you start seeing brown slime (jelly), it's a goner.

The same happened to me when I was fragging a branching hammer.
It was fine, I placed it on the sand, it took about a month to grow another branch and the base solidified like nothing ever happened.

It's looking ok today. I had a bottle of Coral Wash off and gave it a soak.
So far so good.

Looks to be a goner. Much receded. No slime but.
Bought a replacement today put next to it. Might help. But feel bad for doing something so dumb
