Just survived another tornado!

I understand things can happen anywhere (I've spent most of my life in CA but moved out here about five years ago) but when it comes to hurricanes, you have plenty of time to get out of the way (I'm just below DC so they're really rare here). Tornadoes don't afford you the same opportunity, they just spawn and destroy. They're probably the only natural disasters that actually scare me.

Well there were tornado sirens that were going off and also my phone was blowing up with alerts to seek shelter immediately as well as the weatherman saying there were tornados on the ground in my area. I would say I had a good 10 minutes before it actually hit. One of my neighbors does have an underground tornado shelter. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for me to look into one also since we have tornados almost yearly here.

I'm just thankful none of my family was home at the time. I watched it out my backdoor but I would have probably been in full panic mode if I thought they were in danger.
