Overflow u tube grew more impeded and return pump chamber basically kept too low and ATO dump 5 gal in 75gal. Had a bit of a swing 35->33ppt; among probably other things not tested (alk). Torch expelled brown slop, some tentacles literally flat/deflated.
^ approximately 48 hrs after initial swing, 24 hours after 1st course correction (return swing 33-> 34.5ppt).
~12-24 hrs after above picture, so maybe two days post corrective?
Returned to what is normal for this coral in my tank. Just found it interesting. During the “worry times” I couldn’t* drum up any web results reflecting super similar scenario (“completely” deflated tentacles). Swings are scary- weirdly but thankfully nothing else had an apparent reaction.
In the midst of battle I did discover a pocci frag that fell onto BOTH of my bicolor war corals behind my scape and that was an interesting battle find; as they all appeared to die killing the other.
