I see a shrimp or fish you fancy deciding to live it’s life out in that nice open space you have to the right of your overflow box. I wonder if you moved the rock back more if that would decrease that risk while also allowing you to place more coral towards the front viewing area of the tank. Just a thought. My nem is chilling in that same space but I can’t get to the viewing area due to my controller cabinet. So I enjoy my nem via my phone and a video

Everything is pretty well glued at this point, but if it becomes an issue, I still have ~40 pounds of rock in the garage. I can add another layer in the back and add additional height. I did want that right side pretty open because you can see that end from the house entry. I'm also considering moving right side powerhead to the back wall.

No worries it’s great as is. You can view that space from the side anyway.

I’m a big fan of back wall power heads for aesthetics. First week of my tank I just had the nero 5 and 3 running on my back walls. I added a gyre because I really wanted that flow pattern for my particular scape and plans for coral. The gyre flow as well as the neros adding that contrasting flow really adds a nice flow and randomness that seems natural.

Some updates since it's been a few days.

Current Parameters:
Ammonia: ~ 4
Nitrite: 0.2
Nitrate: 20
PH: 7.6

While the tank is cycling, I picked up a pair of Onyx Clowns from the LFS. Started my first quarantine tank. Never did it in the past, but really want to do this tank right.

I also did some cable management, and am getting ready to build the control board.

Also started breaking in the skimmer.

I predict you will have a Trident by February. You seem to roll like me
I tend to agree with you. I almost bought a trident and dos when they were on sale, but figured I would wait until I get some corals into the tank and actually have to start dosing. I work in IT. Anything I have to do repeatedly, I tend to automate. This tank will be the same. As much automation as I can reasonably do.

That’s cool. I’m lazy and like neat things

your tank is coming along really nice.

Starting to look at a stocking list. I likely won't end up with all of them, but this is what I'm thinking today.

I already have the Clowns, and I know fore sure I want the Kole Tang. Everything else is flexible.

My wife likes the Anthias as wrasses, so trying to find some "pretty" fish for her.
The Mandarin will come much later once the tank is well established.

I'm open to any suggestions.

I was just looking at the anthias I want when I move to my next tank. I wish I could get a shoal in my 75 but I worry about the waste and space. Good looking lineup.

After doing a bunch of research, I also ordered a ClearView Pisces EXO lid for the tank. They are on sale right now.
