Are you sure?? I think it's morphing. It has been under low light.

The ones I got today look very similar to the actual "kaleidoscopes". I have about 4-5 polyps right now that are already the actual colors it seems, and maybe the other ones will "morph" as well. That would be amazing. I will definitely get some pictures in a few days so you can all tell me what you think.

Revhtree: Your definitely could be a morphing one, only time will tell...

sf - those look pretty darn close. Keep us updated and see if you can get a good top down shot. It would be cool if we found more to go around.

rev - move them to higher lighting and see if they'll morph for ya. I have mine about 18" directly beneath a 150W Phoenix. It may just do the trick.

Just keep one thing in mind though, all of mine came from several polyps that were already like that and grew from there. No other polyps on the original colony it came from have morphed as far as I know.

I tried some top-down shots, but they came out horrible. However, to my amazement, I found some more possible kaleidoscopes on another frag, and also have some better pictures of my first find as well.

New ones???

Did you get them from Vietnam????I just pick up a rock of 500 polyp eagle eyes from there and it has the same morph on the rock..(BTW it was a sweet find at $45)..I'm growing them out as well.....They are definatly something that I have not seen before!!!!

My wild Watermelon Colony from Vietnam is also changing colors like the pic Pook posted. I noticed it last month and didn't thinking nothing of it until I saw Pooks pic.

Alright guys, here's an updated shot. I am going to make a few frags of 2/3 polyps each and see how they do. Once the frags are healed, I'll post pix of the actual frags and work on getting it out to the people on the list if you are still interested.

Shot from today
