Use more vinager when dosing kalk with vinager you use 45ml of vinager per 3tsp of kalk per gallon of top off. So ur actually adding very little for ur volume. I go through about 45ml of vin/day in my 190g total volume

Thank you all for the kind words and advice.

0700 water is clear and corals look good so far
Ph-8.31, Kh-6, Ca-375, mag 1290 (or a bit lower)

I am going to plug in the kalk this am, but i do plan to use the proper outlet

Whats your SG? KW overdose is not that big of a deal but a change in SG from so much freshwater might cause problems

Any carbon source like vinegar will lower ph but yes you will risk a bacteria bloom so be careful about adding to much. In my opinion your kh was too low to begin with.

NSW is in the 7 to 8 ... with 7 being the low side.. and 8-10 by many sps keepers. I prefer around 8 dkh.

With Eco-Bak many prefeer to be around 8 KH, I personally have tried that and now stay more towards 9-9.5 KH and seem to be having good results at these levels.

I think you'll be okay. I spiked mine to a pH of 9.8 when I dumped too much pickling lime in the top off bin and did a water change without unplugging the top off pump. Nothing suffered too bad (no loses, anyway). Hopefully, you'll have the same experience. good luck with it.
