I'm trying to put off from going to part. Not b/c I don't think it is a good method, but more b/c I have a gallon of kalk and want to use it. I can't keep alkalinity consistent dosing kalk through my tunze dispenser. It normally swings from 7.7 to 9.3 and back down over the course of 10 days. I was thinking of getting a jebao DP-4 and dosing a kalk solution through that. For the 4 head doser plus an extra pump it comes out to about 13 dollars a pump. How often would those pumps need to be cleaned running kalk through them. I don't want to do kalk through my ATO because of its inconsistency and the mess.
