I currently dose bionic 2 part, roughly 100 ml per day. I’d like to also start dosing saturated kalkwasser so I don’t have to dose as much 2 part. Hoping to cut back on bionic some to reduce the salinity creep.

I’ve determined I can dose 1/2 gallon of saturated kalkwasser per day (won’t outpace evaporation). Is there a way to calculate how much that would equivocate to in bionic 2 part? In short, if I start dosing 1/2 gallon per day, how much should I cut back on the bionic per day? Ballpark is fine, just trying to keep alk somewhat stable during this change, but will test frequently and watch for trends…just looking for an initial estimate to cut back on.

Thanks!

Won’t be enough to replace the ESV.

100 mL of ESV B-ionic is equivalent to 1.8 gallons of saturated kalkwasser.
Thanks @Randy Holmes-Farley!

Figured it wouldnt come close, but would help reduce it a little bit. Sounds like based on your information, if I can dose 0.5 gallons of kalkwasser per day then I should be able to cut back my b-ionic dose by 25-30 ml. I’ll try that as a starting point once I bring the kalk online.

That’s a fine plan, IMO.

I wonder how big your tank is?! Because the esv recommend at 1ml per gallon so your tank has to be bigger than 100Gallon and not smaller.. And your evaporation rate should be way higher than 0.5Gallon at 100Gallon water valume I would assume.

Tank is 90 gallons total volume. Yea, definitely evaporating more than 0.5 gallons per day...I suppose I am being a little misleading. I am targeting 0.5 gallons per day of kalk because that is the size of the reservoir I can fit without being an eye sore and will last me more than a week without having to refill.
