I have a kalkwasser question. I have a 100 gallon system mixed reef. Currently dosing full saturation through ato. Still having to also dose 2 part with doser to keep alk stable at 9 dkh. I’m wanting to auto dose full Kalk saturation with auto doser. I have about 1.5 gallon per day evaporation rate. How much is a good starting point to setup doser? And is better to dose 12 doses in daytime /nighttime or 24x throughout the day? Thanks in advance!

I set mine up witha Kamour continuous pump and dosing 4ml every min 24/7 through a K2 stirrer (fully saturated) and seems to be holding PH, alk and calc high but I have no bio load yet of corals.
4ml a min so your dosing about 5760ml of filly saturated Kalk daily with no billows at all

Ok but mainly trying to figure out a good starting amount.

You could start off using half the recommended amount to start and adjust as you go forward. That's what I would do.

Each system is different. I still only dose kalkwasser through my ATO top off.

Wouldn't the good starting amount be the amount be slightly less than the daily evaporation rate that you are dosing now?

Sorry to jump on I haven't got a clue how to post this any where else I have a redsea 250 and I'm also wanting to use kalk to keep ma alk level stable I have been using salifert test kits over the course of two weeks and have seen my alk drop from 8 to 7.7 everyday I have been using salifert dry kh buffer to maintain it every day

Salinity 1026
Ph 8
Alk 8
Cal 450
Mag 1350
Water volume on the calculator is 200ltr

I want to use my doser over a 24 hr period I have used the reef chemistry calculator I need 520ml a day to maintain it i have set my doser to dose 21ml every hr it takes 32 seconds to dispense the kalk into my sump am I been overly paranoid about any ph spike I'm not too bothered about achieving the perfect ph numbers i cannot dose kalk in top of reservoir because my evaporation is different day to day advice would be appreciated thanks

Your math all checks out, and your plan is just fine. 21 mLs at a time will barely change your pH. I would test alk daily for the first few days as you try this new method.
