I just did an ICP and my results explain my water bowl of death. My iron levels are high along with other metals. My tank started taking a turn when I started my own RODI operations. My TDS is reading 5 in and 0 out. Does an RODI filter out enough metals? I live in an older apartment. I think I am going to get an ICP on my rodi water and for now get water from my LFS.

The RO/DI at 0 ppm TDS is not a big source of metals, and the iron itself is not the problem (Red Sea recommends more than you have).

The other metals, such as zinc, copper and cadmium, might be an issue. It effect depends a lot on unknown factors such as the chemical form of those metals.

I'd look carefully for any metal parts in the water, or even corroding above it.
