So which one do you think is better for deeper light penetration to the sand bed? Kessil a160we or ai prime 16hd?

Wanted to do it for a nano 20 gallon. Tall

I use a kessil a 160 on a 21 invh deep tank and right under the beam the penetration will be good. As you get away from the beam it wanes. But in a 20g tall there isnt much off to the sides so a kessil 160 would be good for you. Lots of shimmer too which is nice

Just got it with the gooseneck came out to 310 bucks with tax.

No cotroller not needed. You can just adjust nobs on top to what you want.
Its a little hard tonfigure out the settings with just the nob tho. I have the controller and it is nice for ramping up and back down

Kessil with the controller for the win. Wish it were wifi enabled, but when I ran ai prime the connection was spotty anyway, so that’s another set of frustrations altogether.

The fine tuning of the 160 is lacking even with the controller, however. Intensity 1 and 5 and 9 are not much different in my experience.

I dunno, Kessil still wins for form factor and shimmer
