Hey there, I have been struggling to find the right intensity/height combo for my kessil a360. I had it at 12.5 inches off the water because I thought I read somewhere it should be between 12-16inches off the water. My tank is 14 inches from top of the water line to the sand bed. It's a rimless with no top. I have recently been running at 85% intensity and a lot of my coral was stretching and not in a good way. I decided to do some reading and found most people run between 6-10 inches off the water so I dropped mine to about about 8.5 inches off the water.

I am wondering if that is where it should be since I don't have too deep of a tank, or where my intensity should be at. My acans and chalices and other LPS have been good and growing, but zoas and soft coral have been struggling. My bubble tip get really long and skinny as opposed to it being really bubbly when i first got it also.

Any suggestions welcome thank you.

I have a 28 inch deep tank so I have mine 10 inches above the water at 100%.

Mine is 6 inches off the water with 85% max intensity. My tank is 17.5 inches to the sandbed. I don't have any zoas or softies under it though, sorry.

Thanks for your input guys ...I'm going to keep the lights at 85% at 8.5 inches for a couple days to see how it does. I made the adjustment from 12.5 to 8.5 last night about 2 hours before lights went out so couldn't tell much really want to give it some more time, but it sounds like from what I've read 8.5 inches might be a good height just have to dial down the intensity a little

One thing to remember the w series is wide angle optics like 120 deg so they dont penetrate real good on deep tanks like over 24". For those should go to the n series they run 90 deg optics.
