I I have a 48x30x18 110g tank. There is nothing in the tank except saltwater and live rock.

I just purchased 2 Kessil A360x’s spaced 13 in from both edges and 8 in above the water. I have them on a 12 hour cycle following the BRS schedule.

This tank is cycling and the lights have been on for 3 days and I’m getting a reddish colour on the rock. If I use a tooth brush I can brush away the red. I don’t think it’s cyno but I don’t know.

This is my 1st time using LED lighting. If anyone can offer advice on setting this up I’d appreciate it.

Thanks

I would leave the lighting as is. My guess is this is just part of the uglies since you are starting a new tank. You could possibly just turn the lights off for the time being as long as there are no corals or photosynthetic animals in the tank yet.

You don't need to have the lights on during the cycle. However, if you must, I would use the acclimation mode in the kessil app. Very easy to use. The only problem with the acclimation mode is that it is only setup for a 30 day interval. My advice would be to have the lights acclimate from 10% to 25% over the first 30 days. Reset an acclimation mode from 25% to 35% over the next 30 days. Finally, 35% to 50% over the next 30 days. But really, there is no need for 50% intensity with no coral.

I love my kessils. I think you will be content and satisfied with your purchase. The shimmer is unbeatable. Don't get too anxious to crank them up either. These little guys can definitely put out some power in your sized tank.

Want to try something cool? To replicate your own moonlights (since they are not built in), set all intensity down to 0. Turn violent up to 1. Bam. Moonlights.

A 360X does have a complete lunar cycle built in.
Ya lunar cycle can be cool, maybe even beneficial. But moon cycle is not the same as moonlights. I personally have the moon cycle turned off. It will have the lights turn off too early at times. I prefer more viewing time.
