Kessil A360xe tuna blue

Loved my kessils for the shimmer & they did great things for lps & softies however sps growth was slow, since switching to orphek atlantik I've had stubborn acro's burst into life with new growth tips all over.
I do still run a kessil directly over my clams just for some extra, direct focus punch.
Quality lights but wouldn't be my first choice for sps

Has anyone used these lights before? I'm thinking about starting another tank and using these. I don't know much about kessil I been using AI and love their lights.
I have been running them for nearly 2 years! I think they are worth every penny. I have 3 on my tank

I started this 75 gallon tank out with four a360x tuna blue lights, then later added the Reefbrite xho fixture to fill in shadows when the coral grew out.

Oh dang. What's the dimensions on that tank? Did you need 4 cause the coverage ain't that good or did you just want 4

Can I ask why you need 3? Is the coverage not good?
Coverage is great and deep in fact I don't run them at 100% Timed ramp up and down. I have a Large Reef Tank and I wanted no "Dead Zones" The Tank is six feet long and two feet wide with a sand bed 20 inches down. The coverage is optimal! Very Happy with results. SPS, LPS, Softies, Nems

Oh dang. So with a 25 gallon lagoon do you think i would only need 1 light?

I used four for even par spread. That is a 4’ all sps tank. The Kessils are good lights, but their downside is you need more of them for an even blanket of light in bigger tanks. They are like street lamps instead of a light bar. I only run them at 60% max.

So a 25 gallon lagoon from innovative marine I would only need 1?

Possibly, depending on the coral kept. Two would add an even blanket of par. One will have a high par spot in the middle, and lower par on the outside edges. But that may work for a new mixed reef. You can always add on later if needed.

Totally Agree! You can raise them Higher for more spread but I dont like the external light "spillage" on the surrounding area. I only want the light in the tank and that Kessil Shimmer

Yeah i plan on making a reef tank or just a anemone tank

I have 5 kessil over my 5’ tank (3x360x and 2x360xe). The coverage is very good. Though I started with 3 everything was growing fine and looked great. But adding the 2 others really penetrated my larger colonies all the way inside. My SPS grows fast, no issues growing any coral in my tank. They are at a height of 10” for me was the best coverage, but some light spill. I ramp up and down through the day and night, never gets to 100% total output. The newer 360xe are a little bluer than the older 360, not as much white light. The shimmer and crispness of these lights in the water is halide comparable.
