Hew everyone, so I'm finally deciding to get a good light for my tank. Ive got a Nuvo 20 that has only zoas, softies, lps. The light I have right now was just a cheap one to get my tank going but I'm looking into either a Kessil A160w or AI Prime, whats everyones opinions on these two lights?

i LOVE AI prime.
I have two of them on two tanks. You just set it via the app and youve got any color combo you can think of.
Never had kessil but arent those only a one color per unit?

Loving how that looks, my main concern with both was the spread but the AI definitely seems to have great spread with the tank, bonus that i don't have to get a separate controller for it.

Love my Kessils BUT both failed. Kessil did replace but now wondering how long replacements will last. Tank is now 18 months old.

I have 4 Ai Prime in my 150g tank, are amazing color, app, corals are happy. I never use Kessil, but Ai are so fine.

I currently use both on different tanks. Both have there advantages. I bought two of the prime HD for a 40 gal to try something different. They have a lot of color adjustments if that's what you are into. But if you prefer quality of light and a simple way to achieve it, than Kessils are the choice. I have kessils 160we and a kessil AP700. Those two AI prime HDs will one day find there way to ebay.

AI primes for me over my 30 Long nuvo. Love them. The app makes life 10x easier and I can have different color spectrums.

HAD AI's on a maintenance tank....HATED them. Had nothing but trouble and huge shadow areas with them. Two years later, they were finally replace with two Kessil 700AP on a 6' tank. There's no comparison...the Kessil are in a completely different league...quality of lighting and consistency of light spread are far superior to the AI's. I just sold an extra set of Kessil 700's and had inquiries from 2 people running AI's and wanting to get rid of them.
