Thats more what I meant. The fact that there is plant life within the 'animal' may cause ebay to view corals as a grey area. I just dont see them not knowing
Using the word 'coral' in the description is not the issue. Spamming the words acanthastrea or micromussa in the description of a zoanthid colony is the more the issue, IMO. That gets your zoanthid colony to come up when a search for acans or micros are done.
Yep. All friends here. Thats what I like about this place. ;) A friendly debate is part of what a message board should ALWAYS be about. :)

I dont find it to bother me all that much, only that the auctions and bidding get so extreme over say tonight i was searching for ricordia and most of them have outrageous pricing for the smallest peices.....JMO :)

I'm sure some here remember when there was maybe one page of corals back in the day on eBay. Now you got what, 20+ pages sometimes...maybe more. With the money eBay and Paypal make.......and they make even more with the keyword and "Rare" spammers, they won't be taking corals off eBay in our lifetimes.

I think of it basically like Amazon showing you, 'People viewing this item also viewed these...' and showing them to you in a panel. Its almost the same thing. I type in Barbie and I get some Barbies, and I also get show the Bratz and Polly Pockets by marketing association because someone felt I might also want to see those. Often times I do like seeing them. And if I don't care to...I don't open them and look. The web is full of spam. Everywhere. NO search yields pure dead on results. I search for white kitties I get young teen girls, barely legal. I search for weight loss support groups I get ton of drugs. I look up drug side effects and I get a million was to increase my manhood (and i like don't have manhood). I search for Barbie I get other toys. I search music for White Zombie and get a whole host of other dark stuff because some marketing genius has decided ahead of time (and rightfully so in this case) that I'm a freak.
Ebay is no different. And I'm certainly not going to complain if I'm looking for a micro and someone takes it upon themselves to show me something else dubbed related...i scroll past the ones that don't interest me.
And my big pet peeve with this post is: don't skim for and report gleefully tattle on 12 people for using the same advertising gimics that everyone else does IN AN AREA THAT SHOULDN'T BE POINTED OUT BECAUSE IT IS IN A BIGGER VIOLATION THAN YOUR PET PEEVE ABOUT KEYWORD SPAM.' Snitches make it hard to keep anything on the covert.. ya know?

kind of funny how sometimes you can make out on an auction when the guy mispells it; it doesnt' come up in searches. i got some "blastosmussa" for cheap a while back, 25 bucks for a 6 polysp green and red colony
