I started a service ticket in case no one knew how to do it. I have tried to access the manual online and it will never pull up
Thanks
Jeff
You can do a lot from the screen until they get back to you you should still be able to set it up and start using it

The facebook group is a great resource as well. There have been a lot of improvements. Some you can do with what you have and others that you can get the newer parts for. Read one of my earlier posts on things to do to make it much more accurate.

It is a very powerful device once tuned properly :)

where should I start reading? 66 pages will take forever to get through. I cant do anything with this thing till I can get a password that works, cant get past the login screen. I hosted a friends corals for 3-4 months and he gave me this monitor. It was a constant frustration for him.

I have a v1 version and 3 things I did to get it back up and running is Calibrate the float switch sensor. Raise the bottom stop to the float-switch(the float was getting stuck on the stirrer pill), remove 3 of the 6 rollers for the reagent pump roller and sand the dosing pump post for both pumps SW in and out and now it is finally working again. I have the rest of the upgrade parts on order. Thanks all!

Near the end of the manual, there is a page explaining the usage of the buttons on the LCD panel. You can do almost everything you need to set it up using these buttons without being able to log into the WebServer. As a matter of fact, the only way to calibrate the pH probe is using the buttons. The only thing I can think of that you cannot do, is to change the testing interval. But the LCD will tell you when the next test will be.

I hope this helps!

for future reference if you need to reset the unit. Hold down #3 and #4 while plugging in to the wall outlet.
what wifi adapter is anyone using? I think you can get one that will plug into the eithernet port and enable wifi so that I dont have to hard wire it to a router.
Thanks
Jeff

sorry if I am being a pain with questions. I was able to order all the upgrade parts. I decided to upgrade the firmware which went fine but when I unplugged the unit to restart like the instructions stated now the dhcp will not connect. Nothing changed but the upgraded firmware. Any ideas?
Thanks
Jeff

I had a problem with the DHCP when I first got it and even with the few FW versions I upgraded to I always had the same behavior. I've disabled it and set a static address on it. It boots up much faster now :) Not a great answer, I know, but let us know if you need helping configuring it as static.

Check your screen for the new login address it changes every time you turn it off so the old page you were logging on to is no longer available

It did indeed change after the fw install. It still shows dhcp failed but I am able to log into the guardian with new address! Now waiting on new parts and address the roller issue.
Thanks

Awesome. I've been completely stable since I last reported in. It's been since the 7th, so like 3 weeks now. I've been doing tests every 90 minutes since then and my tests average deviation is 0.25dKH, my average step between each test is .03dKH. I'm incredibly impressed with how it performs. Since the 20th I've been working on raising my alk and was able to monitor every single additional dosage I performed. I corroborated the guardian tests with my idip and my hanna tester. The idip and hanna tester was always 9ppm apart and the khg about 25 apart. With the complete stability I was able to see, I finally did the reverse calibration and worked on raising my alk. I added a routine to my controller to dose up to a few extra times 3ml (would raise +1ppm) when alk started to drop, and skip if it went too high over my target. I used that to slowly raise my alk back to > 7ppm.

Attached are some graphs how my dosing varied over the past 7 days and how my alk has increased. The drop after the increase was when I recalibrated the guardian to match my hanna. I normalized the data above as if it were calibrated from the beginning.

Here's some final stats and you can see where my controller dosed extra or not. I also show how much change between each test. You can see how consistent and subtle the changes are.

It’s happened again. For the third time since November, my values have begun rapidly sliding downward with no actual decrease in alk confirmed via test kit.

That appears to be consistent with a probe going bad. Recalibrating will help but only for a short while. Did you replace the probe last time? Which probe do you have?

The way this test works is it doses the reagent until the pH reaches 4.5. Every ph probe that I've seen go bad has gone bad by seeing the ph drop linearly like that. If the ph reading is getting lower and lower than it stands to reason it will get to 4.5 quicker each test.

I personally recommend getting the lab grade probe and if you have the white plastic cap one, ditch it quickly. Just seems pretty cheap quality to me.

This happened after about 8 months with the original all glass probe that came with the unit. After troubleshooting with CV, I replaced the probe (at my expense) with the $100 “lab grade” probe that CV sells for the KHG, however this is not the same all glass probe that came with the unit. That probe went bad after 4-6 weeks, and after more troubleshooting, CV sent me the current probe (same type) as a replacement. Here I am, another 4-6 weeks later, and this probe seems to be failing as well.

As a side note - I made a good call not allowing the unit to adjust dkh. My tank would be screwed right now if it was pumping in alk solution after each test, thinking the alk is plummeting.

I get it ur mad and I would be to but when u eventually get it dialed in and running properly there’s nothing better

Also your graph is from apex what does the khg graph do?

I have Coralvue ph probes both ones they sent me were way wrong so I ditched them and get a brs or apex double probe you may have to adjust it at first to find out where it should be left but once you do forget about it

All my problems have been self inflicted (like yesterday I pulled three rollers out of the ks motor total failure shouldn’t suck up the fluid then when I disconnected it I threw the line on the ground and lost all my reagent or when I tried making 10dkh water to test made my khg err out or when I messed with th float switch etc etc)

Like I said I understand your mad but I promise u it will be worth it

I would trust my khg to adjust my alk if I had that model

This isn’t an issue of “once I get it dialed in” - I have had my unit since last April and had been largely happy with it since then (I did have two issues in the first few months which required working with support to resolve). Now with the unit approaching 1 year, it’s an issue of reliability and long term operation.
