Ok For the last year Plus I have been on the fence about an Apex maybe kinda still am. I have always be a Keep It Simple Stooped “KISS” . Well about two weeks again I desired to add a small frag tank next to my Redsea Reefer 250 and plumb it into the same sump. I ordered the frag tank from Advanced Acrylics 18x16x8 with exterior overflow. It is on its way.
In the mean time I attended Joes Knows Reefs live sale and picked up a few nice SPS frag that I have been wanting. As by some great fortune I wine the grand prize the Apex El. Thank you Joe. With this on its way I ordered a few more thing to go with it. A extra EB836 , WXM module , for my MP40s, a Core 15 so I can run the frag tank off the same return pump as I do not think my Varios 2 would be strong enough.
Now the challenge is to get my sump area cleaned up and all set and start the upgrades with out upsetting the main tank. I will update as this goes on and hope people will chime in with information and suggestions as this happens.
Here is a picture on my tank and the mess of sump area. I will show updates as we move along.

So last night I ran out to Home Depot and picked up 4 , 12x24 inch black shelves. I the made a small box out of them and used one shelf for the door. I payed out what I wanted and then drill some 2” holes and then glued in some gromets
