So far my 110 g tank has a Ocellaris Clown, a Bangaii Cardinal, a Foxface Lo, A Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse, a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse and a Flame Angel. I would love to get a Kole Tang, but am afraid of adding one at this point with these somewhat aggressive fish. Do you agree with this assessment? If so any recommendations for a Tang that would be okay and not outgrow the tank?
Thanks

I have one right now and have had those before. They stay on smaller size and aren’t that aggressive.

Each fish is different - but I can say that my particular Kole Tang would have no problem with your tank mates.

He currently is in a 120 with a lightning maroon clown, foxface & filefish - the Kole tang does not show aggression towards any of them but he does not tolerate anyone else being aggressive.

Mine did terrorize and eventually kill a 3" Hawaiian Hawkfish - but that was completely brought on by the hawkfish.

The Hawkfish was aggressive - that aggression seems to be what would trigger the Kole tang.

I think under your current fishstocking parameters, you'd have a breeze with adding a new fish. Looks like you'll be fine with aggression!

Why don’t you use an acclimation box? Use one that has access where you can easily feed Kole tang. The Flame Angel would be the main fish to watch to see how they get along. Gives both time to get used to each other. If there is some aggression, once they are ignoring each other you can release.

That way you are not stressed to see how they react. Great to have on hand. I actually use a fish trap as an acclimation box. Multipurpose tool.

My kole tang is a great fish. I think a kole would do fine in your tank. Nothing there should see him as competition. Also, tangs are armed with well tangs and they are good at knife fights. Most things will not mess with them except other tangs and mindlessly aggressive damsels.

I guess I am the only one with a devil Kole Tang lol. Mine does not get along with any algae eating fish....fights with Foxface and angels unfortunately. Every fish is different though.

Oh dang, mine never fights with my foxface, and infact my foxface and yellow tang follow her around, the only time they separate is when it's time for bed.

Thanks for all the responses. I do have an acclimation box and may give that a try.

I think the kole tang will be a great addition. They're such beautiful fish. I love mine!
