it's been up a month and a half, but it's a transplant from a smaller tank which was a transplant from an even smaller tank. total time 2 years. it's 4 giesemann t5's (420,460,aquapink,10000k), 27gal water in sump/refugium, 400gal rated recirculating skimmer(i forget the make, i bought it used), Tropic Marin Bio salt, AquaVitro's eight.four/Calcification/Fuel Additives, weekly 10 gal water changes

Looking good. I have a 72g also, with a 29g tank. That was the largest I was able to fit inside.

Which powerheads do you have in there?

Hello and welcome to r2r :welcome:

The biggest issue I have is the middle braces on my stand will provide a challenge on fitting a tank under there. I am hoping that I will be able to make a 20 gallon work.

my sump is a VERY tight fit and it only went in one way. i did a lot of measuring and comparing to charts for just the right fit. anything with more gallons would have been too tall. i didn't have to make any changes to my stand other than drilling for plumbing.

Thanks! I have the same stand as you, but in black. I was able to fit a standard 29g tank by temporarily removing the top center brace and sliding the tank down from the top.

The sps look amazing, how long have you had those colonies for?

the green birdsnest is about a year and a half old, it started as a 1" stick. the green slimer in front of it is about 8 months old and started as a 1/2" stick. those two and my blue digitata are super fast growers, so they are young colonies despite their size. most of my sps has been acquired over the last year and a half, mostly through trade.

my biggest problems have been getting purple corals to color. i had a large colony of bonsai GARF that lost it's color over 6 months and an ORA tri-color valida that refuses to color under my lighting, while at the same time i get insane colors from my tri-color staghorn and my ORA frogskin.
