hey all im tryin to find some information on a species of Hawaiian ladder wrasse/surge wrasse. anyone ever had any experience whit this fish?

Which one? Ladder or surge? Two different species, but essentially the same behavior (and consistent with that of most Thalassoma).

Both Thalassoma purpureum (Surge) and Thalassoma trilobatum (Ladder), like most Thalassoma, tend to be a bit belligerent once mature and consume motile inverts. If there's a tankmate they don't like, they might decide to remove the victims eyes. Suitable for a rowdy FO tank, but not one I'd put into a reef tank.

That's Thalassoma trilobatum.
 
Not that I'm aware of, but common names are typically rather regional. So a certain "dialet", if you will, might. Latin names are universal however.
