i recently came into the rare opportunity to get a fully intact, accessories-included lamotte spintouch for a third of the price as they are new (thanks ebay) and it just came in today. i'll probably make a post about it later and my experiences testing it after i get my new IM fully set up (and a build thread for that too).
one thing though - it's a spintouch FX, not the spintouch FF pretty much every R2R post about them is on.

for those unfamiliar, the spintouch FF is pretty much the same machine as the API aquaspin sold to LFS, just licensed out. you fill a regeant disk full of water, pop it in the machine, and in a few minute it performs 8 tests, some more useful to aquarists than others.

in all ways i can tell, at first glance at least, the FX is the same as the FF. i did get it from the uk, so maybe its a regional thing? but the FX is also the same model forestry suppliers sells, and according to lamotte they have the same ranges for results.
however lamotte has removed the FX from their fish farming catalogue, which makes me think they're different machines.

i tried to contact lamotte to ask but their contact form does not wanna go thru for me. what do you guys think? do you know anything about these photometers?

Interested to hear what you think. I've only seen bad reports on it's
a coworker of mine has one and has been using it for about a year. He loves it. I have taken samples to him to check if I run out of something and it seems to be on par with what I would be getting myself

I've had the SpinTouch FF for over a year and I sure love how handy it is. The readings I get are on par with API Master Kit tests (no less accurate anyway), except for high pH readings. It doesn't display readings higher than pH 8.3 even though the water (in my 750gal Tanganyikan tank) is actually pH 8.9 as measured by my Hanna HI98128 and HI98129 ph meters. At least this is the case with my unit, which has the latest firmware update.

This might sound weird. But where do you source your disks from. I need more but can’t find them.
