I've lost count of how many tanks I've been through, but here's the latest one!
Upgrade from my packed 10gal.

The night after I did the transfer the temperature must have dropped quite a bit, seeing as how the heater was only 50w and was calibrated for half the gallonage. I was so tired I didn't think about that before going to bed. In the morning I found the temp at 76F and a couple of the SPS pieces dead and a couple of others very stressed. :(

But, I'm not giving up on SPS yet. The monti caps are doing alright and the setosa and garf bonsai are hanging in there. I'll just have to buy some more frags!

This is a work-in-progress! I need to get all the frags off the sandbed and onto the rocks. I'll probably also add a AC20 with a surface skimmer. As of right now, the middle column is nicknamed Mount Doom (or Death Mountain) but hopefully in the future it will become Redemption Island.

Equipment:
20 gallon long
Current Sundial 4x24w T5HO
1x 10000K
2x
454 Blue
1x Fiji Purple
AC110 HOB (empty except for heater and some rubble)
Koralia 1
Fluval 150w heater

Livestock:
2x Onyx Percs
Royal Gramma
1 turbo snail
1 trochus snail
2 red leg hermits

Coral list:

Softies:

Yellow-tip cloves
Red Purple Eaters
Purple star polyps
Green star polyps
Green zoas
Cinnamon palys
Spiderman mushrooms
Orange yumas
Hot pink yumas
Greenbay Packer zoas
Green/blue/tan palys
Blue/purple yuma
Ricordea: Orange, green, blue, purple
Cornbred Rockstar zoas
Whammin Watermelon zoas
Daytripper palys
Death by purple palys
Neon green toadstool
Mind Blowing palys
Pulsing xenia
Hulk green cloves
Pastel yuma
King Midas zoas

LPS:

Thanks, Rev :)
I still need to get everything off the sandbed and onto the rocks, but during the transfer one of the rocks poked a hole in my thumb and now its infected. Going to keep my hands out of the tank until its healed, but I'll snap some more pics now that everything is opening up!

So what do you have stocked so far and do you plan on stocking more? Also, I love your pictures especially the one with the fish with the open mouth. I look forward to seeing your progress.

And thank you, the royal gramma shot was pure luck! :D
I am actually thinking about adding a mandarin goby and training it to take frozen food. Trained one successfully before, but I'm still on the fence on whether I'll try one in here. And I'm looking to add a plate or two for the sandbed once it's clear. Also, more SPS!

what brand of tank is it? Been looking for a nano long for awhile now looks great!
I bought the tank at Petco during the $1/gallon sale, but they recently switched brands, I believe. I forgot what brand they are selling now.
Thank you :) Nanos can be fun! And the 20 long has really great dimension, reminds me of my old 40br.

love that 2 mouthed ric. bet you feel like you have room to breath now, going from a 10 to a 20L. very pretty tank.
That ric has had 2 mouths ever since I got it, years ago. Always expected it to split, but it never did! And yeah, the 10gal was packed full. Most of what you see in there are freebies from awesome friends!

Awesome so you just use the HOB for filtration then? I miss my nano. I had an old JBJ 24 forever and it was one of my favorite tanks...

Start another nano! :D
The HOB is for additional water, heater compartment, and I might toss some chaeto in there to make a fuge out of it. I was going to an a second smaller one with a surface skimmer, but I don't want to clutter the display, so now I've got to figure out how to make a surface skimmer to fit the AC110. Hmmmm!

Pretty sure they make a surface skimmer for the 110. But not 100%
Thanks, Tony, I'll check and see before trying to make one. :)

Very nice!
Thank you!

Haven't had a chance to take many pics lately but everything is looking nice. Got a new fiji purple bulb to go into the fixture and help the red/oranges pop more. Also went by a great LFS today and couldn't resist buying some new yumas and palys. Going to a local reef meet tomorrow so may end up bringing more stuff back then as well, lol.

Hi, my name is Kim, and I am a reef-o-holic! :xd:

Canon T2i. Most of the shots are taken with a Canon 100mm macro lens.

Everything is doing well, thankfully, and I've added a few new things these past couple of days. Been spending too much time at the LFSs, lol. Pics soon, I promise!!
