I lost my lawnmower blenny this evening. He slowly starved to death. I fed the aquarium misus shrimp in the morning and marine cousine with mysis, krill and spirulina as well as algae pellets and occasionally nori. What could I have done differently? Are blennies either feast or famon?

I purchased my Lawnmower strickley for algae control but after managing to get him through QT and in my DT, I found he was one of my favorite fish. They get big so probably not very suitable for a small tank and you need Algae. A more mature Tank with lots of Live Rock probably helps. Getting a good Specimen is also required as they are most likely not being properly cared for in LFS Holding Tanks.

How long did you have the blenny?

Mine constantly pics at rocks and often feeds on the flake I feed the tank. I feed 3x a day.
I didn't feed flakes often. I fed meaty foods and he constantly ate on the rocks and glass when I had a bag algae problem.

I had him for about 2 months. When I got him there was tons of algae on the walls and rocks. He and my lemon peel angelfish ate and I cleaned the rocks of GHA they wouldn't touch. Next time I'll add flakes to the food rotation.
