OMG this is nothing. Back in the day the entire back wall was covered in a thick layer of coralline. My parameters were really stable and I was dosing like a madman to keep up with all of the coralline growth.

I guess I'm envisioning that everything needs a through cleaning. The sand is always really dirty and my bioload is really light these days with only three fish. I was thinking that I'd put the fish and rocks into buckets while I completely replace the sand.

If you are going to remove fish and rock, you can do a thorough sand rinse and reuse.
