Leather coral nuking tank

I have had this leather coral largefor the past several weeks. It has not been happy. I went to move it and a significant amount of debris shed off the coral into the tank. Will this debris nuke he tank? I started up some GAC.

No it should not nuke your tank but if it's rotting you probably want to either remove it based on the amount of decay or frag it and dip it. An image would help please.

I had it in a pretty low flow area

Looks like it should be fine once it opens back up. They hate to be moved and do appreciate higher flow. Thanks for the image. :-)
