Was being patient, but leaving town for a week, so checking in.

Our toadstool leather has been closed up for a week+

Pics attached. Opinions? Shedding or in trouble? If trouble, options?

Parameters stable and near textbook. It's the only coral troubles. Mixed reef w many lps and acro doing well. Ty

Softies like dirtier water parameters. There is a thing as too clean... are you using a skimmer? If yes try turning it off for a few days. Good luck!!

Could be just shedding, you could blow it off a bit gently with a blaster to see if it dislodges any mucus. I would run some carbon. Is that algae growing on its top?

Ty both.. Yeah, really not sure. I run 5 to 10 N, P has been .08 to .2 over the oast months.. Working to dial it in.

Yes, that is a little algae growth... Maybe even hints of coraline. I don't run a skimmer. Do run carbon. Just wondering if I should leave it be, or dip and/or gently brush it off. Not much dislodged w turkey baster.

In my 2 so years of keeping toadstool I’ve never seen one looking like that, shedding or not. I would take some action now , which actions? No clue never had to deal with it.

It's next to a pipe organ that is swaying gently. It had been being bothered by a large aptasia and was closed a lot. The berghia finally got to it and he was happy and open for a few weeks before closing up and crusting.

Anyhow, seems comsensus is that hoping for the best is not the way to go this time. I'll try a dip, gentle exfoliation, and maybe a facial... :-)

Ty all
