Personal preference, I like AI for the money.. Ecotech's are top notch too.... I have AI and my RBTA has split twice under them...

Most reef lights should do fine – it's mostly about the intensity they are receiving once you set the system up.

Their requirements appear to be very similar to most corals, so anything over 10,000 lux is probably acceptable.

(A free lux meter app or an inexpensive lux meter like my "lx-1010b" will do. Post results if you take a measurement!)

Lfs has a used 120w maxpect razor. Would that do the job? They're asking 270 for the light. Is that a good deal?

You'll have to see what you can get a new one for, go look at this one and decide. It's cheaper than retail, for sure, but whether it's a good deal is more up to you.

I two AI Primes over a 65G 'refugium' tank and my RBTA has split once, and looks like its about to split again.

I've run it2040's and it2080's and mine is happy. It's not growing much. that's most likely because I don't feed it but the colors are poppin.

Mine like high PAR 500 at the surface. My Red Carpet appreciates the 200+ PAR on the sand bed.

Here is a pic of the tank after removing 15 large RBTAs for a local vendor who donated to the coral restoration foundation.

The light is the Sirius XTC which has close to twice the PAR of the AI or Ecotech

I'm considering two Prime HD's for my 65g and I was concerned about light penetration. If you don't mind me asking, how far above the water do you have them and do you get coverage at the bottom of your tank? I have two RBTA's and I'm hoping to start keeping some SPS's in there under these lights. Thanks!
