anyone know what brand these LED light bulbs are called? they were being used in a japanese store called natural aquarium, tokyo japan

am i able to keep SPS long term under those? currently ive been growing my acros under them for almost a month now

They are no different from other LED's, just an older fanless design that you don't see around much anymore.

PAR38's and GU10's were popular when DIY LED setups were still a thing.

The rub is that since they are air-cooled they have to be designed properly or the system will overheat and lifespan wil be very limited. Not too many PAR38's were well designed; short life was basically an undocumented feature. (GU10's are much smaller, so easier to radiate the heat....quite reliable.)

Use a lux meter or PAR meter to gauge setup with either one and they should be fine at growing corals.

There were/are multiple "brands" of these lights.
Inexpensive and generally short lived which goes with their inexpensiveness.

Their output varies as does the spectrum at least in the past.

Usually listed as fake output 3W x (X) number of leds.

Listed at 54"W" which doesn't mean anything really. If the leds were actually driven at 3w it is likely their lifespan is short.

Another one listing it at 18W. Likely more honest than the first. 1w each led.
Actually this is customizable which is neat . Can choose optics and colors.

Watts:18w( LED color different, the power is different, but the real power is between 15-18 watts
Most generally have tight optics (90-ish degrees) so will penetrate deep.
Point is to pick carefully.

Same with the "black box" ones which are 50 % "blue" 50% "not blue and a total wattage of approx 110w so 55W each channel.

If you need to import to Australia you may want to check out Popbloom lights or the Viparspectra and clones, a bit more mainstream. They offer a bit more functions than plain bulbs.
