Reefbreeders photon V2+.

If I wanted to drop the coin, at Radion level I would go Orphek instead.

I have nothing but praise for Logan at Reefbreeders and these units he sells. I run 4 of his Photon 48s over my 8’ DT.

I wanted the orphek atlantik, but you need a router to set them up and I dont have access to a router.

This what I'm looking for, how is the growth and color pop ?
I think the growth is good. All of these started as standard frags 6 months ago. Some grow faster than others but I think the pics speak for themselves as far as “pop” goes.

Agreed..
Although I run radions now, I was running reefbreeders v-1 before that, and those lights grew Corals like mad. you can probably achieve the same results with the Chinese black box LEDs off of eBay if your budget doesn’t allow for a photon V2. Otherwise, photon v2 is a good choice IMO.

I've always been a fan of reef breeders. I used the coral moon box nano light they had when I had a smaller tank. Now with 60g, I'm using Chinese black box lights and am happy with them.

I have them only 8 inches off the water, so the spread isn't as great, but that lets me put the high light across in the middle and the low light stuff around the sides and on the bottom. I actually prefer it since I have a mixed reef, and it allows me to have more variety from high light to low light corals.

Pretty much any of the reef LED lights out today will give you results. Hydra is high end and lower in price than Radion and I have seen several nice reefs using AI lighting. The Photon V2+ has many people that stand behind it, it grows and colors corals with the best of them and has great control of the channels for the price range. The K7 ProII is anothe budget light that is getting good reviews. Lastly any of the Black Box lights have been proven over and over to work and grow colorful corals even acropora.

Another vote for photon v2+. I love mine, I’m also running the Reefbreeders high octane uv lumen bar. It is a fantastic setup.

I have a V2 photon on one tank, and Hydras on the other. I give the hydras a slight edge, but the only dig I have against the photon is the controller. I know a few of the big names in the SPS game use the photons.

Dimensions on tank?

Anyway, if you can’t afford LEDs

Then you should research T5 or metal halides

The fixures are less expensive to start, but more expensive over time

The Chinese LED fixtures might be doable, I think their name used to be Reefbreeder. Horrible on human eyes, but they do grow coral
