Usually, people go for the blue and speckled Croceas, but this particular one caught my eye at the LFS. If they had blue, I would have gone for it, but I liked the leopard-like mantle that this one had. Now it sits in place of the old Crocea.

Wow. That’s pretty! I’ve never seen one that color. Is it new? I wonder is it’ll change much.

I think you'll see more coloration over time. Probably a deeper green. Congrats on your new Crocea, love them! :-)

Different. Is it bleached?
The center of the mantle does look paler than the rest, but I don't see any signs of distress with the clam. In fact, I notice the same thing with my Maxima, paler in the center than the edges.

It's new to my tank, but this Crocea and other similar colored ones have been sitting at the LFS for months now, I guess nobody wants a brown clam. This clam had attached pretty strongly to the egg crate, and they had to side a razor to cut the threads off.

That's pretty, I've never seen one that color before.

It's fascinating, the others were dark brown with striped patterns, typical of a Crocea, but this one has a sandy texture to it, never seen one like this myself.

Can you get a top down pic?

I'll take one once I get back home, that'll be a day or so from now. Top down, it's actually not much different, I'm pleased that the sand coloration does not change much when viewed from the glass. Up top, you can see a hint of green iridescence that lightly blotches the clam in a few spots.

Here you go guys, a top down shot:

It kind of reminds me of a Gigas style pattern, the way that the texture is.

Bonus shots of the Maxima and Squamosa too:
