Does this wrasse sleep in the sand ?

I do not believe so (but I'm not entirely sure on the Labropsis genus off the top of my head).

The adults of the genus are obligate corallivores; they feed on coral polyps.

Only clear pic I've gotten of this little fellow. I was told that this is a carpenters flasher wrasse but it seems to be lacking the blue coloration. Is this then a female? Also are these wrasse known to eat pest, like a 6 line would?

No, it's not a carpenter's wrasse, it doesn't have enough dorsal filaments. But I can't tell the exact species without seeing the anal fin. It is either a male mckoskers or a male flavianalis.

Flasher wrasses do not eat pests. Good wrasse choices that do are small Halichoeres, leopard, Anampses, pink streak and Wetmorella.

It's a male flavianalis. The color of the anal fin is how to tell.

I agree. Looks like my flavianalis too. He's so much like a dog we named him Spot because he comes to greet you like a dog anytime you go by the tank.
