I bought this, it fits perfectly but it's hard to tell when it needs to be filled. I'm planning on building my own but have no clue where to start

Yea thats the prob, my sump is to big to fit something in my stand. lol. so i might downgrade my sump size so i can actually fit something.

I did that when I set my frag tank up. I put a couple of Montiporas in and called them "mine canaries". Let 'em soak for 2 weeks. They looked fine and then started filling it up with SPS.

DIY build 36” x 24” x 8” AOI

Leak test

Split return off MJ1200 with Hydor diffuser to frag tank and the other to built in refugium. AOI also includes probe holder, dosing lines holder, and ATO float valve

Lighting; Originally was an AI VEGA Color (now running two AI Primes).
Flow; one MP10ES
Monitoring/Control; PM1 with temp and pH probes tied to my Apex (heater is running off apex as well)

Advanced acrylics is a good option for that size, Innovative marine lagoons are nice as well.

It’s a 24x24x8 basic acrylic tank from Advanced Acrylics. I drilled it for an overflow and return.
