ARe you worried about bottoming it out?..0.05 2 days ago. Started gfo when was consistent 0.3. GFO in bag got down to .14 but couldn't do more put in reactor .05 a week later.
I'm checking every few days right now. Actually my nitrates are steady 0.2 so trying to up those w more feeding and using gfo to keep PO4 down. Been a balancing act for sure.ARe you worried about bottoming it out?..
I see here all the time when the nutrients bottom the dino’s have a partyI'm checking every few days right now. Actually my nitrates are steady 0.2 so trying to up those w more feeding and using gfo to keep PO4 down. Been a balancing act for sure.
Blasphemy!I've never tested phosphates in my life. Been a saltwater aquarist for at least 10yrs.

I thought carbon dosing like vodka removes nitrates only. Please correct me if I am wrong.carbon dosing hourly has got my Po4 back in line
0.04 ppm, like always.
Looks like its also time to dose some nitrates.
How old is the system? Does it have sand? Is it live rock or dry? I'm wondering how long the system to to reach saturation.I used to always keep my nitrates around 5 or lower, and my phosphate below .05. A few months back I got lazy on testing and probably went a month or more without testing nitrate and phosphate. When I finally did test them I was shocked to find my nitrates at about 25 and my phosphates at .18, since I used to have to dose to keep them detectable.
I started reading up on carbon dosing, but then I realized my corals have never looked better, and I’ve not been having any major algae issues. So for now I’m happy with where my levels are. If they become an issue I will work on lowering them.
Yes it has a fairly deep sand bed, it was started with dry rock, and it’s about 3.5 years old.How old is the system? Does it have sand? Is it live rock or dry? I'm wondering how long the system to to reach saturation.
