My reef has evolved from this....
...to this...
...but then this fuzzy Destroyer of Worlds happened, so Purrling Reef was evacuated into...
...this...
...then it turned into this...
...then this...
...to this...
...and soon, when I can, I'll be transplanting it (knock on wood) into a far larger 75-135 gallon volume of water! (The glass box for which I am working on acquiring, and which I may have an agreement for as I write this!!)
The current 30 gallon iteration of Purrling Reef will likely become a freshwater paludarium with the water area set up as support for my marine aquarium, producing duckweed and ramshorn snails for hungry saltwater herbivores (and possibly a toby puffer.) An adorable little hognose snake may occupy the land section, as they hunt in swamps in the wild, but more research is pending!
My dear little reef isn't really worth sharing so far on a pretty eye candy thread such as this but my fish are fat and happy, and I'm managing to keep hammers, acanastreas, candy canes and duncans well (along with some zoas.) Soon, with any hope my beloved fish and coral will have a proper amount of space to live on...
...on a tall enough stand that this little turd will be forced to simply be a spectator instead of an annoying, weird looking shark who keeps trying to bat at my fish (who ignore him completely but I'd still rather that my boy
not express his adorable hunting instincts in their vicinity, particularly considering his strong involvement in the destruction of Purrling Reef's first glass box.)
(And yes, I currently have hair algae, but I'm working on that and my beloved hammer corals have never looked better since I got the lighting
just right for them.)
