I’m a bit doubtful... I asked how much a frag is they said they’ll cut me a piece for $100...

Considering this piece sells for $1200 on the TSA website I was a bit hesitant. I’m tempted to go back and take a pic of it with a filter...

got em.
. Wonder what it is then
Don’t know. If they’re trying to sell that as a TSA Bubbleyum they’re either ignorant or dirty slime balls. I wouldn’t trust them either way

I have Acros I could name Chaswoods bubbleyum and technically not be doing anything shady, but if they’re saying TSA Bubbleyum then that’s pretty wrong. Deliberate or not

The store owner pulled out a piece of paper from the sump and said "That's a TSA Bubbleyum, I can cut you a frag for $100"

HE also said all the SPS in their show tank were grown from frags.. I'm doubtful

He may have TSA BY, but that’s not what he’s trying to sell you. If he was trying to sell you a Cherry Bomb as a bubbleyum (grimey move) that would have been more believable. Good thing you went with your instinct.

here’s a “Cherry Bomb” I recently bought. I don’t think it’s CB (could be wrong), but I say that cuz I think it’s better than CB, and I have the OG Cherry Bomb too. This one doesn’t share the same polyp colors as my OG CB. Kinda reminds me of what the shop is trying to sell you: Tenuis? Check. Light green skin some spots? Check. Red polyps with yellow base to them? Check.

Just wanted to chime in, that is in no way one of our Bubbleyums
We've only sold a handful throughout the years and there are only 1-2 people with colonies even remotely that size. One of them being a local.
As stated above, that isn't even the correct species. Can you please PM us who the vendor is?

The Cherry Bomb is an awesome coral and indeed very close to the Bubbleyum. The main differences are 1) The base color on the Bubbleyum is green and 2) the polyp color. TSA BY has bright pink polyps that can shift to red(and it grows extremely slow). Cherries are amazing growers and a nice substitute if you're wanting something similar but not exactly a BY. The closest acro I've found to a BY is an Acrolandia
