Lid options for Waterbox 220.6

Just getting my new to me Waterbox 220.6 setup and starting brainstorming on a lid.??
I’m coming from a 10g JBJ aio so it’s a massive change. And with the JBJ I have always used the lid. However it seems I don’t see many 150+ gallon tanks with lids. Obviously the main topics include water evaporation control and jumping fish.
Any thoughts and insights is much appreciated.

Most reefers that I know don't use a solid lid for evaporation. Over time, those lids get salt creep, hazy, scratched, etc and can potentially block light. There are companies out there that can custom build a screen lid. BRS sells a DIY kit as well.

Honestly it seems most don’t have a lid. I’ve been looking at kraken, and top lids polycarbonate style lids. They seem very expensive. Just wasn’t sure if anyone had any experience with either of the 2 on this tank?

If you’re going to be putting fish in the tank it pays to have a lid. You can get the cheap diy kits about (150$) or order a lid from a place like top lids(3-400$). Yes lids are expensive, but if you are going in your tank often it pays to have a nice sturdy lid. Another great option about the plexiglass lids are they have feeding door options.

Most don’t have them on larger tanks due to the cost, but any fish can jump and lids safeguard that. The polycarbonate lids in the link in post 3 are sold by a family business that I’ve bought from multiple times. They are quality and usually half the price of competitors. I highly recommend at least gettin a free quote and seeing if they can meet your needs and budget.

And any lid is better than no lid, but I will suggest a polycarbonate lid with vent holes over a screen lid. I’ve used both.

Thank you for the insight.. I am with you the screen type definitely doesn’t make me feel like the correct way to accomplish the goal. Aside from the aesthetics
