Hello everyone! I recently bought the waterbox marine X 110.4. Its shy of 80 gallons on top and its 4 ft. I was thinking about by 60 pounds of caribsea shape rock but didn't know if that was enough?

Thank you!

The general guideline is 1-1.5 pounds of rock per gallon. Having said that, the only way to truly know (in my experience) is to buy about 1 pound per gallon and start scaping to see how it looks.
If you're doing a negative space scape, I believe you can get away with significantly less. However, make sure you have enough rock (like in a refugium) to support your eventual bioload.

Thank you for your response! I was looking at doing a negative aquascape with the rock. My main concern is price I can always add more later but I plan to cement everything down so I'm scared thats not really an option. I just don't truly have 500 to spend on rocks at the moment

Thank you for your response! I actually don't have either. I bought the tank around 4 weeks ago so it should ship this week and I currently haven't bought the rock since I'm weighing my options. Would you buy 60 pound of shapes or something different?

I would look at them locally to best determine your needs. You can start with 60 and as needed and as your budget allows
