I picked up a tank and it came with a lifereef hob overflow, My question is all the reviews true that its a good overflow?

I was going to drill the tank but after pricing out internal overflows I want to use this overflow if its a decent one to use.

I have never really used a Hob Overflow long term, so I am hesitant

There is nothing wrong with HOB overflows as long as you don't mind keeping an eye on them and doing the occasional maintenance/cleaning they require.
