Yea you can get a timer on a power strip or something like that. And I run them with a cheap 4 bulb t5 fixture. With great results. But I think everyone has mentioned the best lights ur going to get.‍♂️
Do you know anything about the aquanest plus m7? Do I need one or two of those or are the m8’s better?

I have looked into them but with these guys I don’t have many light options/controls I would have to do one or two of these then something else it looks like
I would say if your tank is 24 inches wide or less one would do. Mine are mounted 8 inches off the top, and should provide enough spread for my 48 inch wide tank, 23 deep, and 18 front to back. I have not seen the seven. The big attraction is the preprograming. Which at this point I cannot check, When my apogee PAR meter comes in I will have the prof, and be able to comment

Another anti LED guy lol

Oh really? By that general description you came to this conclusion?

Imagine if you actually took the time to look before posting and realized I was describing the ReefBreeders Photon LED.

Is this it I’ll probably go with it just based on how much info is out there on it. https://reefbreeders.com/shop/photon-48-v2/

That's the one. The only thing it's missing that you might want is app control. It comes with a controller instead. If you want app control, you can add it on later or purchase the Pro version for a couple hundred more. Assuming you are good with the look/style, you certainly will not be disappointed with the performance.

So I looked at the light that you recommended. I can vouch for it, as It is exactly like my Razor with a number of updates, but the function is the same. As described it is a great light. One thing the bars that slide will eventually get corroded by salt, and freeze in position. I have no solution for that as I do not want to take a chance on getting chemicals in my Aquarium

I have come to the conclusion only some people can see that. I have had my photon 48 for a couple of years and never have seen the effect.
It was a mushroom joke.

As to the Disco effect. Just have your power head running close enough to the surface to agitate it. You will see it then. I have to use a stronger than necessary power head at the moment, and the mushrooms don't like strong current. So I did just as I described, and there you go. Flashbacks to my younger days
