As the title states, I have 15lbs of Australian live rock arriving tomorrow. I’ve gotten conflicting answers. I bought 25lbs from one source almost 2 weeks ago, he stated to have lights off for first few weeks and then after a few weeks can turn lights on and throw in a small cuc in the tank.

Then the other source that I’m getting from tomorrow says lights on in order to keep the color on the rock.

Confused. I have had my first 25lbs currently in my 60 breeder holding tank with lights off for the last couple weeks, debating on turning the lights on for that rock as well as the new 15 pounds of Aussie rock that arrives tomorrow.

I'd leave the lights on, there's photosynthetic organisms on it and I'd want to try to keep them in good health.
Yeah I wish I would have went with my gut and put lights on back when I first received the first shipment of Aussie rock about 10 days ago. I turned the lights on now and will keep them on a 8-10 hour light schedule from now on. Hopefully the new shipment of Aussie rock I get tomorrow will replenish some of those organisms I may have lost in the last week
