Setting up a Red Sea 300 G2 that is 48" wide. Tank has been cycling for 2 months now with no lights on. I have 2 of the Kessil Tuna Blue lights from other tanks that were taken down. This tank will be mostly sps corals with zoa's and goni's on the bottom. I was going to use my two current kessils and purchase a third to have 3 of them spread across the top. I have a par meter but have yet to measure the par with only the 2 kessils. I kinda know that two will not be enough. As I stay awake and think more about this. I am now thinking of putting only one Kessil in the center and purchasing 2 of the Radion G6's and have one of these on each side of the single Kessil. I love the shimmer from the Kessil and thinking this would give me the best of both. I could also just get one G6 for the center and use my two kessils on each side of that. I am just trying to figure out a good combination to get some good looking light and good growth for the corals. I have never owned a Radion light but we know they produce growth and I dont want to give up the shimmer from the Kessil light.

I don't buy into the expensive lights. Had 3x xr30 pro g4s over a 125 and replaced with 3x noopsyche k7s and never looked back. 3 of them over a 48" tank would be more then enough for sps and cost less then a single G6.

I personally do not change my light setting almost ever. Get them set once and let them be. looking to buy 6 here soon for my 7' 210

My 48x20 tank is lit by two Reefbreeders Meridian 11’s and two Reefbreeders 14k Edge bar 45’s

Honestly, in all but the most extreme tanks, you could get by with one or the other.

We were just talking about the old skool ati t5 systems, just wonderful on 4 footers :)
