for a Standard 180 I'm using 3 "black box" LED's with updated LED setups from SB Reef Lights down the middle and 2 5 foot T5 bulbs on the outside. I am using ATI Coral+ bulbs.
I would do LED/T5 again every time if I were building new. The fixtures on BRS and others that support LED modules with built in T5's (4x vs my 2x) would be my choice with G4XR15's.
Mines a 140... 60" x 30" x 18". 8x 48" T5. Bought a used 8x 48" TEK unit for $80, replaced the ballasts with new ones, new bulbs, excellent reef quality lighting for $300.
I have a Red Sea reefer 750 xxl and I use 4 current USA lights all with their tank mount I love them... inexpensive and easy to use I don’t care about not controlling them from my Apex by I can still turn off the outlet if I have any problems also I don’t have ANY SPS.. BUT I GROW EVERYTHING FROM Zoas and mushrooms to fromgspawns and acans no problem
Tank is a standard 6x2x2 180. Have to upgrade my reefbreeders v1 32. Half the blues are out and the other half the primary optics are browned out. Was going to go with another rb unit but thinking maybe a change. Wife gave thumbs up. Was thinking 3 kessil 360s but worried about to much shimmer and like the extra control of the hydra 52s. Can't find to many reviews of the vervve while the radions are a bit more than I'd like to spend also worried about the color disco ball. Lights will be going in canopy about 10" off the water. Guess you can say I'm leaning towards 3 hydra 52s. Thoughts?
