I'm ready to jump and grab lights for my 65 gallon tank (36x18). Mine will be a mixed reef. Low stock in fish, and a mix of corals (soft/lps) but nothing too difficult! I really would like my corals to pop.

I have a few reefers in my area that have offered me some good stuff and I am considering these options.

Option 1: Reef Breeders Photon V2 (not the plus) One unit, He had his on a 36" system and it looks like there is about 3 inches on each side of the fixture to the edge of the tank. He used the hardware that came with it. I liked the pictures that he sent. Would this be ok as a stand alone. From what I have read on here, it seems to have great coverage and growth.

Option 2: Another person has an Ocean Revive T247 and maybe has possibly 2 that he could part with. It's a little cheaper, but from what I see you lose the ramping up feature.

Option 3: Up to 3 Current Orbit lights 36". I had originally considered these, but watched a video that said they aren't that great. I won't do much hard stuff. I don't plan on doing anything with SPS. This option is the cheapest and closest!

I would love for you to guide me on this one! I can't wait to put rocks in it! I have to move my Nano Cube 24 Deluxe so I can begin putting the 65 together!

Thanks to all!

On my 65g I have (2) Kessil 360we's. I scored them used and never did originally plan on SPS. But my LPS Frogpawn took off so well I added SPS. With the Kessils it gives you alternatives. Cheap? No but leaves you with options.

I believe that the reef breeders or the ocean revive will be the better option than the orbit lights. I used to run 2 ocean revive on my 65 gallon and they did their job. They grew my sps, clams, lps, and softies. Now I switch over to 2 xr15 g5 blues and I really love the color and control they give.
