Yeah, I get the aesthetic part, I think a lot of lighting solutions only look passable if you have a hood. That light will be fine for fish only, and so would an incandescent bulb, just make sure to get something more substantial once you decide to try any corals beyond low light stuff like xenia/gsp/zoas.
