Hi everyone 👋

I purchased my furst coral (toadstool leather) a few days ago, and i need recommendations for a cheap reef light ideally blue-white light in one with a timer and dimming options.

Currently i only have a basic white light 450-W.

My tank has a few snails, hermit crab, a pair of clownfish and one coral.

This is what i found online but i am not sure if this is recommended ( see picture below)

I really need the right advice when it comes to proper lights and affordable.
My budget is $30 max

My aquarium lid does has fluorescent light sockets.
But i am also looking with suction cups.

Thanks in advance any help is much appreciated ‼️

Did you mean $300 as even a bad light would cost over $30!

I am sorry but $30 won't buy a reef light. There are low budget lights on amazon that are good quality, such as nicrew, vivarspectra, smatfarm, and some others, you'll need about 50 watts for that size tank.

No i did not mean $300, the light i posted is actually $18
yyeah, lighting for fish, but that wil not be sufficient enough for any coral

especially in a 20gal

buy a noopsyche k7 mini, only around 80$

and y would u buy a coral without a light, and without doing the research for a light first????

That doesn't sound right.... make sure its the 50 watt, not the 24 watt, and make sure its a reef light not a freshwater light. Feel free to post a pic for folks to offer a comment, the worst feeling is to spend money and then realize you bought the wrong thing

You are right! I came to the conclusion that amazon isn’t the best place to look for a light.
The lights i found had pictures of a reef tank but somewhere below its described as freshwater light

The other problem that i am facing is that dont find any reef lighting with suction cups or something that i can plug into my fluorescent light sockets.
So i will probably have to purchase a cover that fits on top of my tank and purchase a light that i can mount on the tank
