Lighting suggestion?

I have a waterbox marine x110 coming, its 48” length 4 ft. And i had an xr30 g5 laying around i wanted to use, but people are telling it wont be enough. I dont want to waste money if i dont have to. Can i add another g5 xr15 to it?

Light is a key component of coral health. If it were me, yes to the other Radion as well as 2-4 orphek light bars ( or reef brite)

So add the xr30, and add 2 lights bars? Or add radions? Im confused

Yes it won't be enough. The g5 xr15 has a coverage between 24-30in.

2 should be fine. But if you find yourself needing more. Just get some bars for supplement light.

If you don't care about mix matching or getting the same par levels in the tank. You can keep the xr30 and add the xr15.

Personally I would keep it consistent and pickup another xr30.

I use 2 xr30 on my 6 foot tank. 2 xr30 on a 4 foot tank. Is extreme….

If 2 xr30s are running great on your 6ft tank. Then sure 2 might be overkill on the 4ft one. I just don't see a single xr30 handling 4ft of tank. This of course is highly dependent on coral selection.

No need to jump the gun on lights anyway. You already have one. So just try it out and add-on later if need be.

Or just sell the xr30, then just get 2 xr15 instead lol.
