Lights

Hey guys, is me again I've Ben using t5s for a bout two years now is a great light corals grow pretty good can't complain. Only thing is I've noticed bulbs loose there straight so light bulb have to be change at least every 6 months.
Now I want to try other lights
What is your guys experience with light or what you suggest?

LED'S
I heard feed back that kessil is good lights
But not for coral growth or for anemones
I also herd current by orbit, are good also
But for how long the lights are strong does it loose potency with time or can we replace bulbs

METAL HEAD LIGHTS
Great feed back excellent growth on depth as wells
Bad on heating the tank and to much energy but bulbs last along time.
Which is excellent!

LED would not loose their lighting capability for over 50000 hours.
ALot of LED people that keep SPS have now gone back to using Halides. Its pretty easy to keep the tnak cool using fans.
I myself perfer the LEDs, as I've come from Halides, they do light a tank, but the LEDs are much easier on my tank as I don't keep SPS.

What leds are you using?
Are you only keeping softies?
Do u have any pictures of your corals under leds

My BTA climbed right up under one of my kessil's and actually began bubbling up. I've had sps, lps and softies all growing nicely under them. I love them for the ease of set up and the look they give a tank.

@ jimbo662 the kessil can turn up the intensity right? So nem won't climb up that much
My nem would be my only concern

Had T5's and currently have Current Marine Orbit LED on a standard 29g and doing well. I really like its features and $. I have couple Softies and few LPS-Euphyllia, Duncan and couple Favias.

Yes, you can adjust the intensity . The lights were about 9" above the water. The nem crawled onto a rock that was about 5" below the water line. At that time I had teh intensity at 63%.
