True that just wasn't expecting him to eat 1 that is 1 1/2 " longer than him he couldn't even swallow the whole thing still has a inch of tail sticking out of his mouth.. figured it would be safe for at least a few months still...There probably aren't any gobies that won't eventually be eaten if paired with a volitan lionfish
Length doesn't matter. What is important is the size of the body cross section. If that fits the mouth of the predator then it can and will be eaten. Excessive length is dealt with by digesting it little by little...
[/QUOTE thanks for the information very good to know. This is the very first live fish that has been ate by him since I weaned him off ghost shrimp and other minnows and got him eating pellet and frozen food. I have a pygmy angel that I will be transferring to my 160 gallon to make sure he will be good. Also have a little cleaner wrasse that would seem to be easier to eat digestive wise that he has completely ignored.
Thank you very much appreciate your help it's awesomeCleaner fish and shrimp usually get a pass by predators. Though, if starving, they will also go after cleaners.
