So I had a brand new bottle of Brightwell’s magnesion sitting on my dresser. I reached to grab something and knocked it over and it rolled back and fell behind the dresser. I wasn’t overly concerned until I saw all the liquid on the floor.

At first, I wasn’t overly concerned, saying to myself “well, it looks like water, I’ll treat it as such.” Imagine my surprise when I got a towel and started wiping it up only to find out that the towel does not do a good job of soaking this liquid up. Imagine my further surprise when I realized that my hardwood floor was now oily and slippery.

Needless to say, after half a bottle of Lysol with oxy spray cleaner and a third of a roll of paper towel, I was finally satisfied that my floor was no longer an indoor ice rink. What an absolute mess.

I’ll be honest, the bottle didn’t fall from high up, and it didn’t hit the floor hard because of the wires behind the dresser. So how the hell this happened is beyond me. I posted the picture too because I’ve never seen a bottle break like this.

Anyway, happy reefing, and watch that magnesium bottle!

That's what we call (in the spill clean up industry) a "Bullseye."

When a tanker truck leaves the highway and lands in a river,....

Today is the anniversary of the Exxon Valdez grounding. Historically speaking you got off easy.
